The inaugural IDEA (Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity, Access) Symposium on Thursday, July 22nd spotlights phycologists that promote diversity and equity in the science community and beyond. The IDEA Symposium includes three invited speakers - Ligia Collado-Vides, Florida International University, Camille Gaynus, University of Pennsylvania, and Austin Shelton, University of Guam - who will talk about their science in the context of diversity, their career paths, and their current efforts to support diversity in science.
